2007 Broglia Gavi Meirana $26.95

Italy, Gavi

This is the most representative and classic wine produced by the farm and it is for this reason that its label carries the name of the farm: the Meirana on it. As a matter of fact the very oldest document which states the origin of the name "Gavi" is preserved at the Record Office in Genova and mentions vineyards and chestnut woods on a spot called Meirana. That document dates back to 971 A.D... Therefore the grape-growing tradition of the Meirana began at the dawn of the history of the village of Gavi.

This wine is made in stainless — steel containers at controlled temperature. It ferments between 18 and 20 degrees in order to preserve its fruity and fresh flavour. The wine "La Meirana" shows the extraordinary characteristics typical of the area of Gavi where the delicious almond — taste, unique in its kind, can be found.

The color of Broglia Gavi di Gavi "La Meirana" is a pale yellow with green highlights; the perfume is fine and delicate, with some hints of anise and flowers. Dry taste, elegant, with a great finish. This is an Italian white for the Piedmont region perfect with grilled fish, sea salt bream and fish soup

2005 Lodali Nebbiolo D'Alba $17.95

Italy, Piedmont

This wine is be bold and beautiful. From the same grape as the Barolo, this Nebbiolo from the estate of Walter Lodali is fantastic.

Colour ruby and lightly intense red, with orange coloured reflections when its old. Scent delicate, continuous, fragrant with violet's perfume. Taste dry, elegant, and harmonic.

Excellent wine for white meats if its young; after its ageing it becomes a perfect partner for roasts, grilled meats, game and with typical Piedmont dishes
